Whiteland Raceway

     Morning Practices- 20 lap shoot out and we had problems all morning in both practices.  We broke down 5 times in practice, no kidding.  First the carb kept falling off causing 3 of them, 1 time for the plug fouling out, and 1 time when the carb broke off at one of the casting joints, $100 gone.  We bounced back in the feature by starting on the pole.  Brooks took the green and the lead and checked out!  With 8 laps to go he already had a 1/2 lap lead and growing.  A training caution put them back together and restarted the field.  Back to green and 3 laps later he already had 1/3 lap lead again and pulling away even over Zack!  But it was all for not because we broke again.  This time the screws backed out of the intake manifold and it was over.  If it could of held together for 8 more laps we had an easy win.  He was unstoppable that day with the exception of mechanical failures.  John Ogara, Roby Buels crew chief,  said to me that sometimes it just doesn't matter, you are not going to win.  I guess he's right. 1st DNF ever in 26 races
